Job Description: This role is essential in safeguarding and recovering critical data in the event of system failures. Essential Skills and Competencies: Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator with a focus on backup and restore operations. Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (SQL Server 2019 and SQL Server 2022). Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Experience in SSIS and SSRS development. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery solutions . Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) are a plus. Required Technical Skills: 1. Database Administration: Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as indexing, integrity checks, and statistics updates. 2. Backup and Restore: Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for databases to minimize data loss and downtime. Execute database backups and perform periodic restores to validate the integrity of backup files. 3. Database Security: Implement and manage database security measures, including user access control, roles, and permissions. Ensure compliance with security policies and take proactive measures to protect sensitive data. 4. Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize query performance. Tackle issues related to query optimization, indexing, and resource utilization. 5. SSIS Development: Design, develop, and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Collaborate with data management team and business users to understand data integration requirements. Optimize and troubleshoot SSIS packages for efficient data movement. 6. SSRS Development: Create, modify, and maintain SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. Collaborate with business users to define reporting requirements. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of reports generated by SSRS 7. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Set up and maintain high availability solutions like SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups and clustering. Develop, test, and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss in the event of a system failure. 8.
