SharePoint Migration Governance Consultant

Spring TX - Onsite

12+ Months Contract

Description:  

As a SharePoint Consultant specializing in governance and migration to SharePoint Online, you will play a crucial role in helping organizations leverage the power of SharePoint for effective document and content management. You will work closely with clients to ensure that their SharePoint environment aligns with their business needs, complies with best practices, and efficiently migrates to SharePoint Online. This role requires expertise in SharePoint, information governance, and data migration.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance Planning:

Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and requirements.

Develop and implement SharePoint governance strategies, policies, and best practices.

Define permissions, access controls, and security policies to safeguard sensitive data.

Create and maintain documentation for governance policies and procedures.

Migration Planning and Execution:

Assess the existing SharePoint environment and identify content to be migrated.

Develop migration plans, timelines, and strategies to ensure a smooth transition to SharePoint Online.

Utilize migration tools and methodologies to move data, documents, and sites.

Verify the integrity and consistency of migrated content.

SharePoint Online Implementation:

Configure SharePoint Online sites, libraries, and lists to meet client requirements.

Customize SharePoint Online solutions to enhance collaboration and productivity.

Provide end-user training and support for SharePoint Online adoption.

Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems that may arise during the implementation.

Compliance and Security:

Ensure that SharePoint Online adheres to industry compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

Monitor and enforce security and compliance policies in SharePoint Online.

Collaborate with IT and compliance teams to address any security or compliance concerns.

Collaboration and Communication:

Communicate regularly with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

Provide updates on project progress, milestones, and potential challenges.

Collaborate with team members, including developers and administrators.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).

In-depth expertise in SharePoint and SharePoint Online.

Experience with information governance, compliance, and security best practices.

Proficiency in migration tools and techniques for SharePoint.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Project management experience is a plus.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Administrator, Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are beneficial.
