Title: Senior Threat Management Specialist - Cybersecurity Location: Junction Blvd, Flushing, NY (Onsite) Length: 1 Year The Threat Management Specialist function is essential to DEPs ability to defend DEP systems from cyber threat, including direct support of life safety, revenue generating, operations. The Threat Management Specialist will contribute to DEPs ability to respond to vulnerability notifications and prioritized system patching info. Without timely vulnerability notification, DEP cannot effectively adjust its defensive controls resulting in increased likelihood of cyber events that may require costly remediation efforts. The Threat Management Specialist will augment staff in the DEP cyber security team and may include nights, weekends, and holidays to monitor the health of DEPs networks. DEP requires two (2) Threat Management Specialists Mandatory Experience required: a. Minimum five (5) years of experience in Threat Management/SOC/Incident Response environment. Desirable Skills and Experience: a. Knowledge of information security principles, practices, and procedures; b. Strong understanding of network and host technologies; c. Experience applying techniques for detecting host and network-based intrusion using IDS methods and technologies; d. Experience with SIEM technologies, malware analysis and mitigation techniques; e. Apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation); f. Interpret information collected by diagnostic network tools (nslookup, Ping and Traceroute); g. Ability to investigate and solve complex problems. Tasks: a. Perform many critical functions within the DEP cyber security discipline which may including nights, weekends, and holidays. b. Interface with NYC Cyber Command teams, vendors, and information-sharing partners. c. Monitor DEPs networks and security alerts for intrusion, attempted compromise, and anomalous behavior, apply mitigation techniques or escalation factors, and correlate threat intelligence across various logs collected by established security controls.
