Experience as a z/OS Architect is a plus. Experience with budget and forecast management. Bachelors Degree. Preference is in a technology discipline. Required Skills Passionate and inquisitive approach to the technology driven world. Strategic planner who can collaborate peer managers. Strong written and oral communication skills and negotiation skills. High energy with a can do attitude. Experience in personnel management responsibilities including exercising usual authority concerning staff, performance appraisals, promotions, and discipline (up to and including terminations). Experience in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining highly qualified engineering staff. Skill and experience in providing technical direction to the zMainframe team. Ability to convey and enforce strict segregation of engineering duties. Specifically, enforcement of complete segregation of Production from DEV/QA/Test and DevOps/DevSecOps environments. Quintessential controls ensure ability should not exceed authority. Coaching and mentoring team members must be a key focus. Passion for learning modern innovative technologies. Passion for solving complex problems. Ability to work independently under pressure. Ability to manage project duties, balance workload and meet internal/external deadlines. Responsibilities: Provide technical direction and guidance to zMainframe workforce. Recruit highly qualified staff. Retain and motivate staff to accomplish results through training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition. Confer with and advise subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, priorities, and methods. Redesign and or modify the zMainframe environment to ensure reliability, availability, and serviceability, and resiliency including fault tolerance, and recoverability. Manage zMainframe system software to minimum level of N-1. Manage zMainframe SLAs, performance & capacity, and reporting. Provide oversight for technical fixes, system upgrades, security patches, and recovery operations. Ensure appropriate security procedures, controls, training, and testing processes are in place. Continuous identification of risks, implementation of preventive measures. and the development of recovery procedures to ensure the continuity of business-critical processes. Establishes team goals and objectives in accordance with company policies and goals to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness. Implement cost-effective and minimally disruptive zMainframe system hardware and software. Prepare and manage cost center forecasting and monthly actual to budget remediation. Participate in financial reviews, contract negotiations, and contract renewals. Collaborate with and assist leadership in enterprise planning like disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and strategic planning. Interface with Audit and Regulatory bodies including providing necessary information in appropriate manner.
