The ideal candidate will play a role in maintaining and enhancing the school district's online presence, ensuring that our website effectively communicates information to students, parents, staff, and the community. The Web Editor will collaborate with schools and various departments to create, update, and manage content, providing a user-friendly and informative experience for all website visitors. Duties/responsibilities: 1. Content Management Update and maintain content on the school district website. Ensure accuracy, relevance, and timeliness of incoming information. Optimize website pages for SEO, including meta tags, headings, and alt tags. 2. Collaboration Collaborate with the communications team to align web content with overall district messaging. Work closely with different departments, school administrators, and other stakeholders to gather and update content. Work closely with graphic designers, developers, and other team members to ensure that all website content is visually appealing and user-friendly. 3. Design and Layout Optimize the visual appeal and user experience of the website. Optimize image assets for online use. 4. Quality Assurance Conduct regular audits to identify and rectify broken links, outdated information, and other issues. Ensure website compliance with accessibility standards and district policies. Test the website for mobile web access and ease of use. Required skills/abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Experience with web content management and publishing. Familiarity using: HTML and CSS. Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla) Image editing software (e.g., Photoshop). Microsoft Office Additional nice to have skills: JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks. Knowledge of UI/UX best practices. Experience using Finalsite Composer, Blackboard WCM, or other educational CMS. Experience managing academic sites. Graphic design skills.
