Position Oracle DBA, No H1B Location: Hybrid, Charlotte, NC (local candidates only-no relocation) Duration: 12+ months MOI: Phone and Video Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote (Please submit only genuine visa consultants) Job description notes: Finishing up 19c upgrades, oracle cloud at customer and database as a service being implemented this year. Syed wants extra help to get through to handle the work load. Lifecycle Responsible for upgrades, migrations, data center consolidations/decommissioning, patch management, etc. (Currently going from 11G to 12C) Build Front end of all application work. First gate into IT infrastructure to help with DB needs. Work with other Sr DBAs, lay out architecture, size it, provide quote, if it gets funding they will start the process of the build in partnership with applications team. Once its about to go live they hand it off to the operations team. Oracle team is the largest 1400 DB, supporting about 70 applications that are critical to the business. Must have technical skills: Enterprise level Oracle DBA experience- large # of databases supported/built. 1400 Oracle DB at Charter for scale. 19 C experience is good- upgrading to this version Oracle dba New data base build exp nice to have/preferred Nice to have: Strong communication Cloud exp DBAS exp (database as a service) JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of production databases in compliance with application specifications and company policies, standards and procedures. Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Performs installations and configurations of grid infrastructure, databases, clients etc. Designs and maintains access and security administration. Designs, implements and maintains backup and recovery strategies on Database Management Systems. Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium complexity with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data. Designs, installs, configures and maintains High Availability (RAC, RAC One Node, Data Guard etc.) Database solutions. Expertise in setup using OEM as a monitoring and diagnostics tool and identifies/resolves the performance issues. Troubleshoots alerts (alert log, Jobs, Disk Group, Tablespace etc.) and performance issues. Performs capacity planning of Oracle server environment and provides recommendations to management to sustain business growth. Designs, implements, maintains Disaster Recovery (DR) methodologies and creates documentation. Gathers business requirements and designs, implements multiple projects along with the production support. Creates standard operational procedures and templates. Acts as mentor for Database Administrators and Associate Database Administrators. Performs research and provides plans to remediate complex business problems.
