Some knowledge of Sybase database systems. Proficiency in query analysis and optimization tools. Familiarity with database performance monitoring and profiling. Our Role: Our Technology Solutions Group is a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with exciting changes on the horizon under new senior leadership. We are looking for you to build out scalable applications to support our Compliance, Finance, Data Governance, Operational Risk, and Human Resources teams. As a SQL Server Performance Tuning Expert, you will be responsible for optimizing SQL queries, improving database performance, and collaborating with our development and database administration teams to ensure the seamless operation of our SQL Server databases. Key Responsibilities: SQL Query Performance Tuning: o Analyze and evaluate the performance of SQL queries and stored procedures. o Identify and address performance bottlenecks to enhance query execution efficiency. o Develop and implement optimization strategies to improve SQL Server database performance. Database Optimization: o Suggest and implement database schema changes to enhance performance. o Collaborate with developers to optimize database design and indexing. Sybase Support (Basic): o Collaborate with Sybase experts as needed to troubleshoot issues. Query Analysis and Profiling: o Utilize query analysis tools and profiling techniques to identify problematic queries. o Propose and implement index strategies for query optimization. Performance Testing: o Design and execute performance testing scenarios to validate query improvements. o Create and maintain benchmarking procedures for ongoing performance evaluation. Documentation and Training: o Document performance tuning procedures, best practices, and recommendations. o Provide training and guidance to developers and database administrators on query optimization techniques. Collaboration: o Work closely with cross-functional teams, developers and DBAs, to optimize overall system performance. o Participate in code reviews and provide input on query optimization. Your Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a SQL Server Performance Tuning Expert. Some knowledge of Sybase database systems. Proficiency in query analysis and optimization tools. Familiarity with database performance monitoring and profiling. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
