Job Title: Open Stack Engineer Location: Roseland, NJ(Hybrid) Duration: 6+ Months Visa Type: No H1 Job Description:- Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced OpenStack Engineer with expertise in migrating from VMware to OpenStack. As a key member of our IT team, you will play a crucial role in the seamless transition of our infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Responsibilities: 1. Migration Planning: Develop comprehensive migration plans, considering factors such as workload compatibility, resource optimization, and minimal downtime. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and align migration strategies with business objectives. 2. Infrastructure Assessment: Conduct in-depth assessments of existing VMware infrastructure to identify dependencies, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility issues. Propose solutions and optimizations for a successful migration. 3. OpenStack Implementation: Lead the deployment and configuration of OpenStack environments, ensuring alignment with industry best practices. Customize OpenStack components to meet specific organizational needs. 4. Data Migration: Design and execute data migration strategies, ensuring data integrity and minimal impact on ongoing operations. Develop and implement efficient data transfer mechanisms between VMware and OpenStack environments. 5. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support for OpenStack environments, addressing technical issues and optimizing performance. Collaborate with support teams to resolve escalated incidents and ensure a stable production environment. 6. Documentation: Create detailed documentation for migration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures. Train internal teams on the use and maintenance of OpenStack infrastructure. 7. Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices in OpenStack environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conduct regular security audits and assessments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing OpenStack environments. Extensive experience in migrating from VMware to OpenStack. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, especially VMware. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols. Certifications such as OpenStack Certified Administrator (OCA) or similar are a plus.
