Hello, Title: Security Engineer Visa: USC, GC, GC_EAD, H4_EAD Client: financial institution Domain Location: Chicago, IL hybrid Local only Duration: 12 months RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage remediation efforts after security assessment findings outline weaknesses requiring attention, including collaborating with other information technology teams to harden assets at all layers, including operating systems, cloud platforms, databases, and network devices. Document, formulate, and enforce areas of security improvement in both cloud and traditional platforms that balance risk with business operations and do not diminish efficiencies or innovation. Attend regular technical project and implementation meetings and serve as the security consultant to help guide secure application and infrastructure configurations. Stay informed about emerging security technologies and trends and provide recommendations for their adoption. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: At least 5-7+ years experience in cybersecurity as a practitioner and with at least 2-3+ years exposure with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure. Experienced in cloud networking architecture and cloud operations, with cloud access security broker (CASB) experience preferred. Scripting/automation experience such as Python and PowerShell Network and encryption experience, including virtual private networks (VPNs), IPsec, SSL/TLS, LDAP, and public key infrastructure (PKI). EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Holds or works toward one or more, including CCSP, CISSP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, or additional AWS advanced certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information assurance, MIS or related field, or equivalent industry experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND BEHAVIORS REQUIRED: Initiative-taking and self-directed, well-organized, and able to position controls in anticipation of threats. Experience with scripting languages like Python, Ruby, PowerShell, and JavaScript. Experience and understanding of various regulatory requirements and laws, including but not limited to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Additionally, experience in one or more of the following: CIS, ISO 27001/2, ITIL, or NIST.
