The candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and leading complex technical projects from conception to successful implementation. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and guiding cross-functional teams of engineers, developers, and application specialists to achieve project objectives within scope, budget, and schedule. The ideal candidate is expected to possess strong technical acumen, leadership capabilities, effective risk management skills, exceptional communication abilities, and hands-on experience in data center exit projects. The candidate will be responsible for management of a single project or multiple small projects of medium to high complexity, priority, and risk. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the business, stakeholders, engineering teams, and application specialists to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, timelines, and budgets and deliverables. Conduct thorough feasibility studies and risk assessments, addressing technical challenges and identifying potential risks. Oversee the development of the detailed business requirements for the project and ensure they address the business unit's objectives. Build and lead cross-functional project teams, comprised of engineers, developers, and application specialists. Assign tasks and responsibilities based on business/application requirements. Provide guidance and technical support to team members throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor technical project progress, ensuring adherence to design specifications and engineering standards. Proactively identify and address technical issues, risks, and dependencies. Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical solutions. Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks, both technical and non-technical, throughout the project lifecycle. Develop comprehensive risk management plans to mitigate potential threats and opportunities. Work closely with stakeholders to communicate risk exposure, potential impact, and proposed risk response strategies. Manage technical project budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources. Optimize resource utilization to maximize engineering and application team efficiency. Monitor project costs and ensure compliance with financial constraints. Demonstrate excellent communication skills to foster collaboration among team members and stakeholders. Clearly convey project goals, updates, and expectations to all involved parties. Tailor communication styles to effectively address technical and non-technical audiences. Develop and maintain comprehensive project reports, including status updates, milestones, risks, and accomplishments. Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and project metrics. Provide clear and concise project insights to support data-driven decision-making. Familiarity with data center migration strategies, risk assessments, and best practices. Ability to navigate the complexities of data center infrastructure and operations. Communicate the requirements, solution design, and estimates to the project sponsor(s). Regularly communicate technical project status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders. Translate technical jargon into clear and understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders. Facilitate technical meetings and presentations to keep all parties informed. Anticipate technical risks and develop mitigation plans. Manage technical change requests and assess their impact on project scope and schedule. Ensure compliance with engineering best practices and industry regulations. Lead the technical project closure process, including technical documentation and lessons learned. Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas of technical improvement. Qualifications Bachelors degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 10+ years of experience in project management, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time, within scope, and within budget. Prior experience in successfully managing data center exit projects. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, or Jira Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. PMP certification is required, PgMP preferred. Proven experience as a Project Manager in technical projects, preferably with application development and engineering components. Strong technical background and understanding of engineering principles and application development processes. Comprehensive risk management expertise, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks effectively. Hands-on experience in managing data center exit projects. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Exceptional organizational and time management abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
