| Role: BI Developer Location: Manhattan, NY Duration: 6+ 12 Months Mode of interview: Video Rate: $50/hr on C2C Must have T-SQL, Azure DevOps pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Need very good communication Skills. Great problem solver. Ability to quickly research unfamiliar subject areas and become proficient enough to explain to others. Comfortable working with the business to support them and to collaboratively solve their problems. Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize workload with competing/changing priorities. Ability to work independently and to extract requirements when they are not available or clearly spelled out. Ability to negotiate with users/customers to keep a balance between precisely fulfilling a requirement and spending a lot of time on something of little perceived value. Required * Strong SQL, preferably T-SQL. * Dimensional and relational database modeling. * Ability to troubleshoot SQL query performance issues including the ability to use query plans to find bottlenecks. * Power BI Desktop and Service. * Power BI semantic model design (tables, relationships, filter directions, etc.). * Intermediate level DAX. * Understanding of and ability to make decisions around Power BI Direct vs Import mode. * Ability to think critically about where transformations should happen in a Power BI solution (at the data source vs in Power Query vs in DAX). * Basic understanding of the Power Query Formula Language/M. * Thorough understanding of the Power BI security model (SSO, RLS, Workspace Permissions, App Permissions, Audiences, etc.). * Basic understanding of Windows and Azure-based security (Active Directory security group, Microsoft 365 Groups, etc.) * Experience with a variety of data sources (e.g., static tables, SharePoint-hosted files, relational databases, web-based APIs). * Ability to configure and troubleshoot Power BI service Connections and On-Premises Gateways. * Basic understanding of Git including branching and merging. * Azure DevOps (repos and boards).
