Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)

Duration: Contract

Must Have:

Need candidates who have experience working with corporates who have at least 100+ field offices. The candidate must have experience in setting up field offices globally and with US.

Experience in CISCO Meraki is a must along with SD-WAN and remote access.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will typically report to the Service Delivery Lead responsible for Network & Telecom and work closely with other team members providing IT support to field/remote office. The main responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Participates in the development and implementation of the network infrastructure in field offices, including physical and logical design of network and telecom infrastructure, analyzing existing network platforms and systems, and recommending solutions.

Provides technical input in the design, installation, maintenance, and support of network infrastructure including remote office LAN/WAN, AV/IT infrastructure, and network connectivity to cloud environments (i.e.  AWS, Azure, and OCI, etc.), Telephony infrastructure, etc.

Provides technical input and project leadership in the planning and managing field office network and AV/IT projects when opening new offices, upscaling, renovating, and relocations offices.

Participates in the design and support of new network and AV/IT systems in Field offices.

Ensures effective coordination with other IT support teams IT systems engineers, IT security, as well as MSP support staff to ensure successful implementation of the new/upgraded network systems.

Work closely with other stakeholders involved in remote office projects CSF/GRE, Area department, Security, etc. 

Contribute to drafting of technical and business specifications and requirements for network equipment in accordance with technology trends, security, and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science or related Information Systems disciplines

10 years practical experience in corporate IT operations environment covering design, implementation and support of network systems preferred.

5 years hands-on experience working in field office IT support - installing, configuring, and troubleshooting networking technologies specifically Cisco Meraki SD-WAN platform.

Solid grasp of all aspects of LAN and WAN operation, routing, topology, network protocols, active network, and point-to-point components, including, but not limited to: TCP/IP, VPN, routers, gateways, switches, firewalls, Ethernet Standards, MPLS, VXLAN, SD-WAN, Cloud delivered firewalls, etc.

Network Programmability skills with Meraki APIs(using python or any language)  and ability to automate regular network tasks.

Ability to develop network topology, wire diagram, and document detailed lab test plans and reports.

Skills and Experience

Experience implementing and supporting Cisco Meraki routers, switches, WAPs and dashboard, etc.

Hands on experience in designing and supporting Polycom video conference platforms equipment, and Microsoft Teams rooms systems.

Experience using Meraki APIs, Thousand eyes, Meraki Cameras, Sensors, etc.

Preferred experience in Network Security, access control systems, CCTV, and PABX systems.

Knowledge of APC UPS technologies, HP printers, and Windows OS.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies to communicate technical information and non-technical personnel.

Experience of SIP, VoIP, H.323, and other similar network technology protocols from a hardware and network standpoint.

Ability to speak any two languages a plus English, French.

Major Duties and Responsibilities    

Manages network projects from initial design, engineering, final installation, and system commissioning.

Provides technical input on the design and project leadership on new or upgraded field office network projects.

Performs administration and deployment of network infrastructure.

Performs routine maintenance and conducts regular operational tests on the status of the network systems and services.

Creates and update documentation for network systems, including detailed architectural designs.

Coordinates submission and processing of requisitions for network equipment supplies and spares, ensuring minimum spares levels, receiving, and inspecting network equipment and coordinating RMAs for defective equipment and replacement products.

Performs maintenance and upgrades of network hardware and operating systems while ensuring compliance with vendor support agreements for the network infrastructure.

Maintains network platform security standards to avoid technical obsolescence and maintain up-to-date inventory of all applicable hardware & software.

Participate in proactive service management and incident response to minimize and mitigate operational impact.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve operational issues on the network infrastructure and hardware platforms.

Troubleshoots routing and switching in a multi-site environment, as well as network connectivity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, OCI, and remote Disaster Recovery environments
