Job Role: Snowflake Developer Duration: 6+ months contract Location: Dallas, TX ( Onsite) Responsibilities: Develop, optimize, and oversee the logical, conceptual, and physical data model within the Snowflake environment. Demonstrate a deep understanding of relational and NoSQL data stores, employing methods such as star and snowflake, and dimensional modeling. Implement data security and access controls, specifically focusing on design within the Snowflake platform. Proficient in complex SQL, Unix Shell/Python Scripting, and database optimization techniques. Expertise in AWS Platform as a Service (PAAS) model and its integration with Snowflake for efficient data loading/unloading. Lead the development of end-to-end data integration processes using ETL for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Design and implement cloud-based enterprise data warehouse solutions with multiple data platforms, including Snowflake and NoSQL environments. Make ongoing updates to modeling principles, processes, solutions, and best practices to ensure alignment with business needs. Act as a data domain expert for Snowflake, providing understanding of data management best practices and patterns. Required Knowledge and Level of Experience: 10+ years of experience in implementing data management solutions. Management consulting experience (highly desired). Expertise in Snowflake concepts, including Resource monitors, RBAC controls, scalable virtual warehouse, SQL performance tuning, zero copy clone, and time travel. Experience in handling semi-structured data (JSON, XML) and columnar PARQUET using the VARIANT attribute in Snowflake. Experience in re-clustering data in Snowflake with understanding of Micro-Partitions. Experience in migrating processes to Snowflake from on-premises database environments. Design and build manual or auto ingestion data pipelines using Snowpipe. Experience in Cloud technologies such as AWS S3, SQS, EC2, Lambda, Redshift, RDS. Design and develop automated monitoring processes on Snowflake using Python, PySpark, Bash with SnowSQL. Certification in Snowflake (Mandatory). Willingness to work onsite from Dallas, TX. Configure and manage Resource Monitors, RBAC controls, and scalable virtual warehouses within Snowflake. Implement and optimize SQL performance tuning, zero copy clone, and time travel features. Handle semi-structured data (JSON, XML) and columnar PARQUET using the VARIANT attribute in Snowflake. Re-cluster data in Snowflake, understanding Micro-Partitions for efficient storage.
