Former c1 will be a bonus! Go has only been around for 2-3 years but it very new. runs on java so if they are strong java that will work. vijay says he would take python guys bc they have tech leads who specialize in java, go and python so they could align contractors with those folks wherever specialty lies Project Overview: background: last year was pilot year, the manager was assigned to test out a new platform where instead of using a third party for all transactions, they would be in house. they came up with use cases and tested it for a very small group and it worked so now they want to upscale and modernize card core. THIS IS A MASSIVE MODERNIZATION PROJECT because capital one would be the first bank EVER to have these transactions take place in house, all other banks have a third party they go through!! they have until 2027 to get this modernization done and end of 2025 for everything to be built (so 2 years from today basically). him and his peer (didnt give name) were told they will have to build 4-5 teams each quarter this year, so essentially 16-20 NEW teams of developers to support this project!! vijay hopes approvals will come from pavan next week when he returns, and reqs created and released the following week (ideal). this has been talked about since late Q4 so he says its full steam ahead and leadership is all on board. molly will be the specialist running point, leadership basically said "hire however you need to get the work done" and vijay wants it to be contractors or team in a box, he wants to work with us and said he will mention our name in his meetings to make sure we are involved. said no talk of SOW or associate bc they need these people to start ASAP has 6 new college grads starting next week and he wants to assign one of them to each of the new teams this quarter to help the contractors. there will be about 5 contractors (mid-senior level devs) on each team Keywords: information technology golang green card Virginia |
