| JOB DESCRIPTION: We are recruiting for an experienced Sr. Engineer Identity Federation / SSO to provide global support based in our office in Lake County, Illinois or St. Paul, Minnesota. PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION Sr. Engineer accountable for implementation of identity authentication solutions according to defined roadmaps and industry best practices leveraging Microsoft Azure AD. Support daily operations with identity technologies including but not limited to claims management, client secret and certificate renewal, Microsoft Graph utilization and using Azure AD as an Identity Provider. The ideal candidate is accountable for delivering a comprehensive set of services including: Azure federation/SSO application design, technical level-3 implementation and operational support escalation for major incidents. Core Job Responsibilities The roles scope includes comprehensive understanding of modern authentication technologies: Using Azure AD for application authentication using SAML, OAuth, or OpenID Connect (OIDC), client secret management, SAML Response signing certificate renewal, LDAP-S. Addresses technically complex, less-well-defined conceptual authentication issues and analyzes federation / SSO technology solutions that span a complex Enterprise IT organization. Serves as a cross-platform technical subject matter expert and provides operational consulting support to design engineers in BTS IT, Division IT, and end-user organizations that demand extraordinary IT solutions. Able to translate complex business requirements into the proper technical controls. Supports the comprehensive BTS technical community and provides the intellectual bridge to corollary technical disciplines. Proficient in modern authentication services and methods while maintaining awareness of changes and advancements in the capabilities and industry. Participate in multi-discipline design or problem resolution sessions. Familiar with leveraging modern SAML and OIDC Tracer tools to capture and diagnose issues related to SAML and OpenID Connect/OAuth communication (Fiddler, SAMLTracer, Postman). Position Accountability/Scope Demonstrates mastery of the concepts and theory of modern authentication technologies/federation. Working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD support & operations. Demonstrated knowledge across data network disciplines, computing platforms, network-based technologies, and applications. Development of metrics by leveraging demonstrated knowledge of PowerBI and Advanced Excel pivot table features. Acts independently to achieve organization objectives, uncover, and resolve issues. Recommends technical programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Demonstrates a strong customer-centric approach, an empathy for global cultural differences, and excellent communications skills. Minimum Experience/Training Required Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in a technology discipline. 5 years experience with identity & access management technologies. IT experience with Federation and Identity Provider technologies such as ADFS, Ping, Okta, or Azure AD to provide application federation/authentication. Microsoft Azure AD technology certification is a plus. Significant experience with customer-facing meetings on technical topics. Experience with Identity Provider technologies such as ADFS, Ping, Okta, or Azure AD is a plus. Experience of doing Enterprise Active Directory migrations is a plus. Experience supporting privileged remote access, password vaulting technologies is a plus.
