We are looking for a self-motivated hands-on Senior Software Architect for our Client. Candidate will closely work with Technical and business teams based in Irvine in an agile fashion to develop Technical solutions for our Emerging Technology program. We are in the process of upgrading our technology stack to DevOps, React, Spring Boot, CI/CD, with full automated regression testing. What you will be responsible for As Senior Software Architect, you will: Provide strategic direction and subject matter expertise in the migration of legacy J2EE applications to Spring Boot/ Micro services. Provide strategic direction and subject matter expertise for wide adoption of DevOps automation. Develop and promote best practices for DevOps and CI/CD. Work with the team to design large scale enterprise solution and application integration for our on-prem applications and moving to cloud-enabled platforms. Will closely collaborate with software development team to understand workload requirements and guide them to best leverage creating applications in cloud-enabled technology, optimizing for performance, cost and architectural flexibility Assume the ownership from development to production rollout using software development approaches from Waterfall to Agile, including test-driven development.. Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevOps processes and tools. Assessing and researching current implementations of the platform and determining the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs. Collaborating in an autonomous team, owning all aspects of delivery (Coding, Quality, DevOps) Design and build function-centric solutions in the context of transition from traditional, legacy platforms to microservices architectures. Information Classification: General Skills and experience: A proven foundation in software engineering bachelors degree + preferred, 10+ years experience You'll need to be flexible and adaptable in learning new technologies and be passionate about future technology and problem solving. Strong background in distributed design patterns and critical thinking skills to design end-to-end solutions Experience and comfort working in an agile environment Excellent communication and influencing skills to facilitate collaboration across technology and business partners without having a direct authority over people Handson experience and in depth knowledge developing applications using Java/J2EE, with Spring Boot framework . Strong experience designing and developing REST-based API services (back-end). Strong experience using JPA. In-depth knowledge of micro-service architectures. Exercising operational expertise in a team, targeting Engineering and DevOps excellence Experience with Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and deployment of containerized applications/microservices architectures is a plus At least 4 years of technical experience with in-depth knowledge of and the ability to build CI/CD/DevOps concepts, tools and technologies (such as Jenkins, Maven, SonarQube, YAML, Python/Ansible, Git/Bitbucket, Artifactory, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm Charts, etc). Experience with application security, scalability, performance, service-oriented integration, working with databases, including competency in structured and unstructured data sources, continuous integration, and automated testing; Knowledge of Agile & DevOps methodologies.
