Location: Irvine, CA Implementation: TCS Role Description: We are seeking a Sr.Cobol developer to support the SMARTS (Investment Book of Records development) team. The candidate needs to develop, manage-his assignments, support existing and new functionality for our in-house suite of applications written in Cobol. Responsibilities will include hands-on analysis, design, development, creation and execution of test plans according to State Streets published Development Process Framework. Additionally, the candidate will engage in production support.Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and a minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Sr.Cobol Developer. Experience with Fujitsu NetCobol or MicroFocus Cobol desired. Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases required (Sybase a plus). MQ, Unix and Unix shell scripting a plus. Solid experience in full software development cycle, including application architecture, technical specs, analysis, software development, testing large-scale software applications, assisting SQA teams with UAT testing, production support. Experience in the financial industry with knowledge of trade flow and corporate actions a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Exceptional interpersonal communication and strong team collaboration skills. Good task/project management skills. Possesses the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
