The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing upgrades to the Mainframe Z/OS operating system. This role requires in-depth knowledge of mainframe systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Upgrade Planning: Collaborate with system architects, administrators, and other stakeholders to plan and schedule Mainframe Z/OS upgrades. Assess the impact of upgrades on existing applications and systems. Execution and Testing: Perform the actual upgrade of the Mainframe Z/OS operating system, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to business operations. Conduct thorough testing of the upgraded environment to identify and address any issues. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to the upgrade process, including procedures, configurations, and post-upgrade testing results. Problem Resolution: Work closely with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during or after the upgrade process. Collaboration: Collaborate with other IT teams, including development and infrastructure teams, to ensure a seamless integration of the upgraded Mainframe Z/OS environment with other systems.
