Title: SQL Server Database Lead/Manager Location: - Omaha, NE (Hybrid) Hire Type: Contract What are the top 3 skills required for this role 1. SQL server Database administration & Automation 2. Hands on experience SQL server Database migration 3. Team, Project & Client Management Job Description/ Responsibilities Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, vendors, and management. Organizational skills and time management skills to keep projects on track to the finish. Manage projects with top-down oversight. Work with team to understand the current setup and prepare a strategy / approach for SQL server migration. Plan and execute Database EOL Migration by working closely with the Cloud engineers and application team. Strong understanding of database encryption ; identifying key risks / issues related to DB migration and managing the same with appropriate mitigation plans. Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. Should have good knowledge on ITIL (Problem, Change and Incident Management process) Additional Information: Need lead team of 8 offshore DBAs and guide them for successful IT operations. Analyze, plan, and develop requirements and standards in reference to DB EOL & PCI projects. Assign and oversee the daily tasks of technical personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestones. Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects. Job summary Good communication skills and Client interfacing skills Good attitude towards learning new technologies Basic Windows Server & Powershell Knowledge Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server Instances. (Installation of SQL Server) Setup Test, Dev, Staging and Production Environments. (Installation of SQL Server) Create Users and assign permissions based on the level of database access the user would need. (Security) Create Linked Servers to SQL Servers. (General Roles & Responsibilities SQL Server DBA experience between 12 to 14 years is must Should have strong experience on Leading Database and IT support teams for 4 to 8 years is must AWS Operations support experience between 2 to 4 years is must AWS Database management experience between 1 to 2 years is expected Experience in handling other RDBMS such as PostgreSQL, Oracle is added advantage Experience in containerizing databases is added advantage Strong knowledge NoSQL Database administration, such as Couchbase or Cassandra, with experience between 1 to 2 years is Mandatory Exposure to Devops tool & tech, such as Kubernetes, helm & Docker, for 1 to 3 years Experience is good to have Should have strong knowledge on Database Architecture, Upgrade and Migration activities in on-premises & AWS is expected Should have done Data center migration experience preferably between on-premises & AWS Should have strong knowledge on DB encryption (TDE), Replication, ALWAYSON and indexing Project & team Management experience between 4 to 8 years including financial management Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Ability to detect and troubleshoot issues related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
