Responsibilities and Skills: Remote Project Support Specialist - Mid Level Job ID: 727928 Client: NCDOT AASHTOWare Description: The AASHTOWare Project Support Specialist (EAS LCS) - NC Department of Information Technology - Transportation - is a mid-level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in a specific technology. ***The candidate will need to use their own equipment from home to remote into the worksite (PC set up in the organization). This is technical and analytical work in designing, developing, implementing and supporting AASHTOWare Project (AWP) for the NCDOT. This role is expected to have at least 24 months of experience developing custom processes, tools and interfaces with AWP application. This position will be mentoring junior technical staff as needed to provide support and additional functionality for users of AWP. This position works with business analysts and other technical staff to deliver required functionality for AWP Preconstruction and CRL modules to the NCDOT business customers in an agile environment. This is technical work with AWP and includes a wide range of activities related to implementation and support including system administration, report writing, automated testing, configuration and interface development. This individual will work directly for the NCDIT-Transportation Letting and Compliance (LCS) manager. It is critical this position be filled as soon as possible in order for the LCS IT team to maintain the current level of support for these applications. It's expected that the Technical Specialist will be available during standard business hours, M-F local time. Required/Desired Skills Skill Required /Desired Amount Candiate number of Experience Demonstrated ability to perform a wide range of programming and analysis work and to work independently Required 7 Knowledge of SQL, C#, .NET, python, PowerShell, command line and other standard languages used in web application development; Required 7 Knowledge of best practices in coding and security Required 7 Ability to work well in a team. Required 7 Ability to clearly explain technical processes to team members Required 5 Ability to review and translate business user specifications to configure COTS applications to produce desired results; Required 5 Ability to execute technical work using best practices, including GIT for source code maintenance. Required 3 Experience with AASHTOWare project (AWP) out of the box tools & processes Required 2 Experience working with state DOT customers. Required 2 Experience with analysing and comparing AWP with requirements and make recommendations, based on technical expertise; Required 2 Experience with the AWP data model and how to use the Interactive Data Model tool for development of solutions.
