The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our project to build a data lake for a special education data management system, ensuring that data is accurately documented and available for analysis. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Proven experience as a Data Analyst with a strong background in technical documentation. Proficiency in creating and maintaining data dictionaries. Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Familiarity with data mart concepts and the ability to document data mart requirements. Experience with data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python, or similar). Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices is a plus. Previous experience in the education sector or with special education data is advantageous but not required. Responsibilities: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical documentation. Create and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary that defines the meaning, source, and usage of data elements within the data lake. Work closely with the business team to gather data mart requirements and document the specifications for data mart creation. Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within the data, providing valuable insights to support special education program improvements. Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation checks and cleansing processes. Produce data mart documentation, including data transformation rules and data lineage information. Contribute to data governance efforts by following established data management standards and best practices. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to data analysis and documentation.
