Role: Sr. Business Analyst Location: Albany, New York Duration: 30 Months Client: NY State Client Job ID#: N/A Description This position is for an expert Business Analyst. The BA in this position will provide expertise in the development and support of public safety (DCJS, NYSP, DOCCS, DHSES, SCOC). These applications are both legislatively mandated and critical to the successful support of the agencies and public safety. The BA will develop and/or maintain system artifacts and documentation including business requirement and project process documentation, training plans, test cases and test plans, quality assurance and contingency operations plans and reports. Duties Work with end users to review/analyse existing workflows, reports, documentation or system artifacts to document business/system requirements and processes. Participate in business user and stakeholder meetings for requirements gathering sessions. Develop, write, and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-organized functional documents such as use cases/user stories, process models/flow diagrams, screen mock-ups according to ITS standards. Perform analysis of what statistical reports will be needed, document the requirements, and design the reports. Develop or maintain detailed test plans/test cases/test scripts from documented system requirements utilizing Quality centre. Execute functional and system tests including regression tests using manual and automated testing tools and record results using HP ALM/Quality Centre Identify and document application defects and track to resolution, performing retesting as required. Identify and document deficiencies in system documentation (e.g. missing or ambiguous requirements) identified during the testing process. Ensure appropriate test coverage by mapping system requirements to test cases. Develop or maintain training or user acceptance testing plans and Tier 1 support guides. Interact with ITS staff, business users and stakeholders as necessary to determine and implement functional and technical requirements. Participate in status meetings and provide weekly reports. Provide knowledge transfer to state staff to implement and support the system. Mandatory Requirements Experience (10+ Years) Analyzes an organization or business domain (real or hypothetical) and documents its business or processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology with distinct deliverables to a solution. Requirements This is an 100% Onsite 84 months experience eliciting/extracting detailed business requirements from customer/project stakeholders or system artifacts. 84 Months experience in obtaining and writing business, user, and functional requirements, use cases, process models, workflows, creating screen mock-ups, report mock-ups and technical documents with attention to detail. 60 months experience developing/maintaining test plans and detailed test cases, executing those tests, validating test results, and logging/tracking related defects. 24 months experience using HP Quality Centre 24 months experience designing user interfaces using tools such as Balsamiq or equivalent.
