Role : Lead UI/UX Designer Location: Maryland ( Day 1 onsite) Duration: Long Term Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Design Lead to provide oversight of all concept design, product design, design support, and design validation for one of our engagements. The Design Lead will be responsible for overseeing all user research and design work and will coordinate closely with product owners to develop a shared vision that represents the needs of the customer and the users of the systems. In addition, this role involves leading a design team in an agile, human-centered development environment, focusing on creating a user-friendly, accessible, and secure digital platform and web portals. The successful candidate will be an experienced web design specialist with experience working in an agile development environment. S/he must be able to engage directly in the development and implementation of the technical solution. The successful candidate will have: 7 plus years of experience in web design/development, 5 years of experience with the US Digital Services Playbook and the US Web Design System, 3 years of experience leading design activities, 3 years of experience working within agile development environments, and 2 years of experience working with government customers to deliver technical solutions. Functional Responsibility: 1. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and internal staff to ensure cohesive user-centric design execution 2. Lead UX and other design teams through the creation and application of UX strategies within an agile framework 3. Conduct user interviews to capture product requirements 4. Translate concepts into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, ensuring accessibility and compliance with standards and best practices 5. Turn user research into representative personas, user stories, user journeys, storyboards, and other design thinking representations 6. Ensure design decisions result in successful product outcomes that reflect the customers requirements 7. Guide user research and create new frameworks for approaching user analytics 8. Drive user research and usability testing to inform design decisions 9. Manage design documentation and adhere to agile methodology practices. Required Skills: Experience leading multiple projects while sharing work with other product designers and collaborating with cross-functional leadership A robust portfolio of successful products demonstrating design thinking abilities and how decisions impacted the success of the final product Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 7 years of experience with the US Digital Services Playbook and the US Web Design System, 3 years of experience leading design activities, Job Description Form 3 years of experience working within agile development environments, and 2 years of experience working with government customers to deliver technical solutions. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Desired Skills/Certifications: Agile or CSM - Familiarity with agile methodologies and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, is valuable for effectively managing IT projects and teams. ISO (9001, 27001, 20000) - Having knowledge or certifications related to ISO standards can showcase an individual commitment to implementing industry-recognized best practices and adherence to international standards for quality management, information security, and IT service management.
