| From: Sam, Vyze Inc [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] PostgreSQL DB Engineer Client: SMBC Location: NYC, NY (Hybrid)- Local Candidates only Duration: 6 months + Visa: USC or GC strongly preferred (H1s considered but will be back of line) Exp Level: 5-10 years (financial exp is a HUGE plus) PostgreSQL DBA Engineer to provide database environment maintenance, monitoring, DB installation, backup and restore, database replication, database development and tuning, user supports, security hardening such as CIS deployment and maintenance. Work within the DBA team and interact with infrastructure, front office developers, PM, and business users. Work in NYC office supporting the trading business for Front/Middle/Back offices. THIS IS A DB ENGINEER ROLE - NOT AN ADMIN ROLE Role Objectives: Support PostgreSQL Server Platforms (PostgreSQL 15) Provide system administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, DB installation, DB backup and restore, database replication setup and maintenance, database development and tuning, user supports, security hardening such as CIS deployment and maintenance. Research and recommend innovative solutions and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Implement monitoring tools and proactively implement improvement steps to prevent potential issues. Troubleshoot and solve incidents quickly to maintain the high availability environment. Carry out annual DR test Work with Cybersecurity and audit teams Late night and weekend work may be necessary at times for installations, patching, upgrades, and maintenance Follow the change control processes and procedures Update/maintain all documentation and improving such documentation as required Maintain effective communication with the Systems infrastructure team and management Qualifications and Skills: PostgreSQL DBA Engineer 5-10 yrs exp PostgreSQL 15 administration installation, configuration, and maintenance of PostgreSQL on RedHat OS Linux (Redhat) High availability and disaster recovery, backups/restores understanding on change control, upgrade, and release deployment activities knowledge of database security, access control, monitoring, and auditing DB autentication via AD or Auze AD Monitoring, tuning, and analyzing database performance Plus skills: Microsoft SQL Server administration working in financial environment Keywords: database active directory green card New York |
