Position: Backend Engineer Location: Remote Duration: 6+ Months Mode of Interview: Phone and Video Job Description: Project Description: One key project for 2024 is to improve the overall customer experience on the website, including building a checkout feature to allow customers to book directly from their website (vs. having to book through the partner website). Environment: Front end: Javascript, React (Next.js), Typescript Backend: node.js Postgress and Redis for cache Hosted on GCP BI Tool: Looker (GCP) Data Pipelines: Dataflow (GCP) to create data pipelines unified stream and batch data processing at scale Role Overview Client is looking for an entrepreneurial, data-forward backend engineer who wants to help us build out the future of vacation rental search. This role will start out as focused on backend engineering, but as the data engineering roadmap is developed, this person will contribute to that area as well. Duties/Day to Day Overview Work closely with leadership, product, and engineering, to design, architect, and implement new features Identify, design and implement process and platform improvements Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues Exposure to Google Cloud is a plus Technical Requirements 3-5 years of experience as a backend engineer, within a startup environment o Experience with Node.js and PostgresQL Interest in data, and comfortable flexing into data engineer duties Strong skills with writing and optimizing complex SQL queries Keywords: javascript business intelligence |
