Embedded Test Engineer Auburn Hills, MI Previous experience in automotive software validation, firmware testing, or related roles. Familiarity with Over-the-Air (OTA) update processes in automotive systems is highly desirable. Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, or scripting languages commonly used in test automation. Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and diagnostics protocols (e.g., UDS). Knowledge of wireless communication technologies, including cellular networks (4G, 5G) and Wi-Fi, as these are commonly used for OTA updates. Familiarity with industry standards related to OTA updates, such as OMA DM, AUTOSAR, IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) and other relevant standards in the automotive domain. Experience with testing tools and frameworks for software validation, such as Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, or other similar tools. Proficiency in creating and executing automated test scripts to validate software updates efficiently. Understanding of automotive ECUs (Electronic Control Units) and in-vehicle networks, as well as how software updates impact these systems. Strong debugging skills to identify and troubleshoot issues related to software updates. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system architects, and quality assurance teams . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues that may arise during the validation process. Ability to create detailed test plans, test cases, and reports for OTA validation activities. Knowledge of automotive safety and cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434) is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate test results, issues, and recommendations to various stakeholders.
