JOB DESCRIPTION: Role: Data Analyst - (Airline Domain) Location: Chicago, IL( Hybrid ) Client: United Airlines Note: Onsite for 2 days every 2 weeks & remote rest of the time this may change based on the business need Job Description: The Data Analyst Dashboards and Metrics will advance the delivery of meaningful analytics to support Revenue Management business. This role will be analytical and collaborative and will focus on developing and refining metrics dashboards. This person will support in evaluating data to understand and support OA Availability failures. This candidate will have experience in data investigation/analysis, complex sql, and data presentation. Contractor will Produce dashboards, including graphs, tables, and other visualizations. They will have some understanding of big data tools/platforms, e.g. Apache Spark, Cloud and Cloud tools such as Googles LookerStudio or AWS QuickSight. Key Responsibilities: The Data Analyst Dashboards and Metrics will advance the delivery of meaningful analytics to support Revenue Management business. This role will be analytical and collaborative and will focus on developing and refining metrics dashboards. Producing dashboards, including graphs, tables, and other visualizations. Performs thorough quality assurance to ensure the accuracy of data and information Provides analytical support, conducts research, reviews and helps evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and IT performance Analyzes current metrics and reporting, identifies gaps, and works with business & leadership to create and improve metrics The ability to write scripts that will extract and reformat data and/or create dashboard tables. Reviewing existing scripts and/or code. Learning the domain to better understand the business and to help make recommendations. Developing automated processes for data scraping. Strong communication skills, for liaising with project leaders and teams. Familiarity with analytical programming languages, e.g. R, SAS, Python, Julia. Some software engineering and system design knowledge. Some understanding of big data tools/platforms, e.g. Apache Spark, Cloud and Cloud tools such as Googles LookerStudio or AWS QuickSight. Qualifications Whats needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): Bachelor's Degree and three years of work experience, or in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, 6-9 years of related experience will be accepted Experience in one or more of the following areas: Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or equivalent experience 2+ years of relevant experience in data analytics 1+ years of interacting with senior leaders and stakeholders Experience working with SQL or Python Knowledge of Foundry, Google Analytics (Big Query), Enterprise Data Warehouse, and SQL server Skills in data analysis, data manipulation, and problem solving Skills in dashboard design Analytical and problem-solving skills Oral and written communication skills Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications): 1+ years of experience with building reports/dashboards using BI tools (i.e., Tibco Spotfire, Tableau, Domo, PowerBI) Knowledge of Project Management Knowledge of Statistical Analysis Skills in Business Consulting Skills in negotiation and influence Ability to comfortably deal with uncertainty and gaps in information -- Keywords: business intelligence rlang information technology Illinois |
