Purpose of Role: A professional SQL Database Administrator (DBA) will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users. ription of Accountabilities: Monitor database performance, identifying problems that arise and implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses Ensuring that the database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of memory loss. Liaise with senior IT department personnel on various issues Liaise with external consultants/Contractors Project Management Troubleshooting problems with Business Analyst, Server admin & Network admin Involve in Application installation Adherence to documentation requirements Must Have: Microsoft SQL Expertise. (Need to be Level 2 DBA moving towards Level 3) Other SQL Database Administration Oracle Database Experience Nice to Have: Postgres Database experience Skilled and able to work independently on multiple projects at once Competencies Good interpersonal skills.
