Experience with WAS System Software Experience with Life Cycle DB management Experience with installing, testing, and maintaining WAS system software Experience working with management documentation such as CAPRS. Experience working with COTS monitoring systems. Duties and responsibilities Analyze requirements for WebSphere Application Servers installation and implementation. Develop detailed procedure documents for installation, maintenance, and testing of various software and hardware infrastructure. Install, test, and maintain WebSphere Application Server (WAS) system software. Meet with fellow management and staffs to develop requirements for the installation and implementation of WebSphere Application Servers. Manage systems software throughout Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Coordinate software changes with the Office of Systems Operations and Hardware Engineering (OSOHE) inter component, cross-component and business partners. Create new WAS regions for Integration, Training, Acceptance, and Production life cycles. Upon Task Manager approval, complete appropriate change management documentation such as specific forms and Change Asset and Problem Reporting System (CAPRS). Update appropriate WAS configuration documentation to reflect changes to the architecture. Communicate and work with application developers and software testers to ensure all WAS resources are identified and defined appropriately. Customize Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) monitoring software to monitor the WAS production environment for problems. Inform Management and Staff of problems and subsequent resolutions. Inform specified personnel by phone and email of problems and subsequent resolutions. personnel will be specified by the task manager. Monitor WAS performance on z/OS and Liberty on Z platforms. Acquire performance metrics, analyze data, and implement tuning changes as needed.
