What we are looking for: As a Power BI Developer with deep expertise understanding underwriting and actuarial data, youll work closely with Business Partners and Stakeholders, analyzing the business requirements, designing solutions, and mapping data models to transform raw data into meaningful insights. The Power BI Developer is a key member of the Data and Analytics Team, bringing an analytical mindset and a problem-solving aptitude to build multi-dimensional insurance data models, along with interactive and visually appealing dashboard and reports - directly supporting business performance monitoring decision-making. Location Remote, Richmond, Miami What you will do: Database Design and Development: Developing, testing, and documenting complex pipelines from a design specification into the enterprise data warehouse. Implementing new Facts and Dimensions within the enterprise data warehouse. Design and implement database structures to meet application requirements. Develop, test, and deploy SQL queries and stored procedures. Optimize and tune SQL queries for performance. Data modelling Create and maintain data models to represent business processes and information requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and design appropriate models. Determine and implement the security model based on privacy requirements, confirm safeguards are followed, address data quality issues, and evolve governance processes within allocated areas of ownership. Participate in reviews of work to ensure developments are standardized, reliable, and maintainable. Power BI Strong Power BI experience to create custom dashboards and visualizations Work with Business to develop visualizations and self service analytics portals around notable KPIs: Hit ratios, quote and bind ratios, management / portfolio reports, rate change, planned, forecast and actuals business metrics. Strong experience with DAX to develop complex measures What you require for the role: Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as an SQL Database Developer or in a similar role. Proficient in SQL programming and database management. Strong experience of PowerBI Development (dashboards and visualizations) Strong understanding of relational database concepts and data modelling. Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques. Familiarity with database security and compliance standards. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with NoSQL databases Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database). Familiarity with Robotic interfaces (Digital Data) Experience in SQL, ADF and Azure Analysis Services Experience with three or more of the following: data processing automation, data quality, data warehousing, data governance, business intelligence, data visualization, data privacy Experience with SQL, ETL, data modelling and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, C#, Scala). Experience designing, coding, testing, and correcting complex SQL models and scripts Knowledge of data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate). Possess the ability to work autonomously and with others. Previous experience of working in an insurance environment Experience working in Agile environments using Azure boards, Git and CI/CD pipelines.
