Role: Senior Mainframe Developer(IBM MQ Upgrade) Location: Remote Duration: Fulltime Role Buying Rate $42/hr on C2C Or $37/hr on w2 Experience Level: 7-18 years Job Description - We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mainframe Developer specializing in IBM MQ to lead our upgrade initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in IBM Mainframe technologies with a focus on IBM MQ, specifically in upgrading from version 9.1 to 9.3. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless transition and optimal performance of our IBM MQ environment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the upgrade process of IBM MQ from version 9.1 to 9.3, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and other stakeholders to plan and execute the upgrade strategy. Conduct thorough analysis and testing of the upgraded environment to identify and resolve any compatibility issues or performance bottlenecks. Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members throughout the upgrade process. Implement best practices for IBM MQ configuration, performance tuning, and monitoring. Develop and maintain documentation related to the upgrade process, including procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides. Utilize IBM MQ File Transfer (MQ FT) capabilities to facilitate secure and reliable file transfers within the Mainframe environment. Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in IBM Mainframe technologies, particularly related to IBM MQ, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 7-18 years of experience as a Mainframe Developer with a focus on IBM MQ. Proven expertise in upgrading IBM MQ from version 9.1 to 9.3 in a large-scale enterprise environment. Strong understanding of IBM Mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Hands-on experience with IBM MQ File Transfer (MQ FT) for secure and efficient file transfer operations. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Certifications in IBM Mainframe and IBM MQ technologies are a plus.
