Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire (Onsite)

Type: Long Term Contract

Description:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Proven experience in embedded software development for battery-operated consumer electronics.

Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming.

Solid understanding of embedded software including interrupts, ADCs, UART, I2C, SPI, USB, CAN, and clock management.

Ability to understand electrical schematics and the fundamentals of analog circuits.

Strong understanding of operating system fundamentals, and experience bringing up embedded OS on new platforms.

Familiarity with ARM processors and low-level driver development.

Experience with bootloaders and memory configuration (eMMC and SDHC).

Skills in performance optimization and battery life optimization.

Knowledge in communication technologies (i.e., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, and Cellular).

Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

GNSS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities: 

Become an expert in product line(s) and assist customer support and manufacturing as needed.

Hands-on bring-up, debugging, and optimization of production systems.

Perform system-level root cause analysis and resolve component issues.

Develop and implement unit tests, component tests, debug, and maintain production code.

Continually learn and adapt to new skills and technologies as required.

Develop test infrastructures, write documentation, and ensure high performance.

Write new code, maintain, and update existing code.

Design, develop, and implement embedded software for battery-operated consumer electronics.

Integrate and develop software for Bluetooth, IoT (LTE-M), and GNSS capabilities.

Work closely with hardware engineers to optimize power consumption and extend battery life.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product and customer requirements are met.

Maintain documentation of design and development activities.

Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards.
