Job Description -

Test Engineer  Harness Design

Location: New Haven, CT (Onsite Full-Time)

Contract length: minimum 6 months with eligibility for extension and/or permanent position

Responsibilities:

Harness Design & Assembly:
Conceptualize, design, and build intricate wiring harnesses exceeding industry standards in functionality, reliability, and aesthetics.
Lead the assembly and integration of test fixtures, collaborating with technicians and ensuring adherence to design specifications.
Maintain and troubleshoot existing fixtures, identifying and resolving issues proactively.Strategic Test Planning & Execution:
Partner with product development to create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans for complex hardware & software platforms.
Define acceptance criteria and testing procedures for both new and legacy products, aligning with overall goals.Technical Expertise:
Conduct manual and automated testing across various platforms (mobile, web, etc.).
Design and develop specialized testing tools and contribute to test automation frameworks.
Analyze schematics, engineering requirements, and test results to diagnose and resolve hardware, firmware, and software issues.Certification Excellence:
Drive activities for product certifications (FCC, UL, CE, etc.), developing associated documentation.
Maintain expertise in relevant regulations and ensure compliance throughout the development process.Must Have Skills : 
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and building complex wiring harnesses for embedded systems.
Proven success in assembling and integrating test fixtures, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Experience with electronic design tools (E-CAD) like Altium Designer or similar is a must.
Experience with 3D design software (SolidWorks, Creo) is a strong plus.
Understanding of relevant wiring standards (UL, IPC) and regulations is preferred.
Strong project management skills, excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
