Job Title: Network Engineer (Locals, Junior Only)

Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Skills:

Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Required 3 Years

Considerable experience in customer support, including problem definition and resolution for both network hardware and software. Required 3 Years

Considerable experience with Cisco router and switches and Aruba wireless technologies. Required 3 Years

Considerable experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.. Required 3 Years

Considerable knowledge and experience configuring DNS and DHCP. Required 3 Years

Demonstrated In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF). Required 3 Years

Considerable experience administering campus/organization LAN/WAN environment, including wireless access points. Required 4 Years

Demonstrated hands-on network troubleshooting experience. Required 3 Years

. A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment. Required 3 Years

Demonstrated ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems. Required 2 Years

2-5 years experience administering Cisco and Aruba campus/organization LAN/WAN environment. Desired 5 Years

Technical knowledge of current network technologies, protocols, and industry best practices. Highly desired 3 Years

Demonstrated ability to conduct research related to networking issues and products as required. Highly desired 2 Years

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly desired 2 Years

Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to present technical information in a user-friendly manner. Highly desired 3 Years

Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS) Mist is a plus Highly desired 3 Years

Solid background in network administration and architecture. Highly desired 3 Years

Experience with access control models and network security. Desired 2 Years

VoIP, Mitel and experience building call patterns preferred. Desired 2 Years

Industry certifications such as CCNP preferred. Highly desired 1 Years

Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Deploy functional wired/wireless campus networks (LAN,WLAN,WAN).

Monitor network performance and integrity to determine if improvements need to be made.

Resolve issues escalated from helpdesk by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure.

Work with third party vendors to keep the network running efficiently.

Communicate with network users to resolve network issues.

Maintain complete technical documentation.

Perform analysis and collect data to establish the potential for improvements within the NSU network.
