| Position: DataMart Cognos Developer Location: 2 days Hybrid in Jersey City / Charlotte, NC(No Remote) Experience: Mid to senior level Client: AIG Visa: Independent candidates Duration: Long-term contract Job Description: We seek a skilled Cognos Developer with extensive experience in data mart development to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, developing, and implementing business intelligence solutions using Cognos and data marts. They will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, designing data models, developing ETL processes, and creating reports and dashboards to meet business needs. Responsibilities: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements. Design and develop data models and data marts to support reporting and analytics needs. Implement ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data into data marts. Develop and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, and cubes. Optimize and tune Cognos reports and queries for performance. Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, performance, and report generation issues. Develop and maintain documentation for data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence and data warehousing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in Cognos development. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and methodologies. Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2. Experience designing and developing data models and data marts. Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, IBM DataStage, or Microsoft SSIS. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus. Knowledge of dimensional modelling techniques and best practices. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is preferred.
