Min 12+ years Location: Irving, TX / Ashburn, VA Hybrid (Need Local Candidates) Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description: Senior Oracle DBA with a minimum of 6 or more years of excellent hands-on experience to support on-premise and Cloud (OCI and AWS) with strong emphasis on Database performance tuning ,which includes: using hints, execution plans, write/re-write SQL, PL/SQL, identifying SQL regression, Resource Manager, reading various Oracle provided tools like OEM, SPA, AWR, ADDM, ASH. AWR-Diff, tracing and unix utilities like top, vmstat, sar etc. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields Technical Skills and Responsibilities required: Ability to support Production (24X7) systems and non-prod systems Ability to work efficiently in production support environment Ability to attend calls during off -hours Ability to provide weekly on-call support Well versed in Oracle Performance Tuning (P&T) with hands-on tuning experience in production environment Ability to write and review PL/SQL codes Thorough understanding of RMAN Backup and Recovery process Well versed in HA and DR solutions RAC (GI, ASM), Oracle Goldengate, Physical Standby Database, ActiveDataguard Well versed in Oracle Goldengate (OGG) Active/passive (one-way), Active/Active Install, setup, config, troubleshooting, admin Expert in various Database migration scenarios Experience in Cloud support and migrations Expert in Database installs, upgrades, and patching Ability to efficiently carry out BAU (day to day) DBA responsibilities Experience in Capacity Planning Ability to provide technical support to application development teams, Application DB release changes, Backout process Experience with Physical Database design Ability to understand Application architecture Pro-active and Reactive monitoring, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) (Synthetic Monitoring) Troubleshooting Skills (process, scripts, commands) to quickly identify and resolve issues Oracle Security, Audit and security compliance Understanding of Storage technologies and Networking Well versed in Scripting (Shell, PL/SQL, Python) Good understanding of ITIL (Release Management, Change Management, Crisis Management, etc) Strong Linux/Unix skills Good understanding of DevOps, DB release automation for DevOps Understanding of Oracle Support process Exposure to Terraform, Jenkins, Sourcetree, YAML Experience with cloud automation Good documentation skills AWS certification is a plus Cassandra DB experience is a plus Inter-personal skills required: Good communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work with various teams to build and foster good relationships Open to learning and implementing new technologies Team Player Flexible Analytical and Problem-Solving skills ability to address and resolve issues Keywords: database procedural language Texas Virginia |
