The position requires significant experience with UCS as the customers entire virtualization environment is on Cisco UCS servers. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of the server infrastructure, learning new technology impacting systems, and resolving integration issues. They will support systems for four data centers with over 1400 Windows and Linux-based servers and 8000 client machines. Additionally, the incumbent will conduct system analysis and development, produce documentation including server specifications, disaster recovery, and application recovery manuals, and work with limited support and direction. Essential Functions: Applies advanced systems/infrastructure concepts to define, design, and implement highly complex systems, services, and technology solutions. Proposes and implements enhancements such as software, hardware, and network configuration, updates, and installations for projects or services of broad scope. Independently manages systems and services, making recommendations for purchases or upgrades. Performs complex analysis to acquire, install, modify, and support operating systems, databases, utilities, and web-related tools. Interacts with senior management and may lead a team of professionals. Installs, configures, and manages various technologies including Cisco UCS systems, VMware Environment, and ancillary applications. Assists coworkers with similar installations, configurations, and troubleshooting. Specifies, writes, and executes highly complex software and scripts to support systems management, log analysis, and other system administration duties for multiple, highly integrated systems. Maintains complex security systems, interprets and adopts system and regulation-based security policies, and provides recommendations and requirements on network access controls. Qualifications: Expertise with various technologies including Boot from SAN, Fiber Channel, Layer 2 and 3 networking, VMware clustering and networking, Cisco UCS networking, NSX-T networking, TCP/IP, ARP, DHCP, UDP, TCP, DNS, Routing & Firewalls, Windows Failover Clustering, Linux, and Cisco IOS & NX-OS. Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely. Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrate problem-solving skills, learn effectively, and meet deadlines. Ability to write technical documentation clearly and concisely. Understanding of system performance monitoring and actions to improve or correct performance. Knowledge of technology and systems design, development, and application to meet business needs. Skills associated with adapting equipment and technology to serve user needs. Advanced knowledge of system problem identification and resolution, experience with system maintenance and administration, and computer security best practices and policies. Preferred Experience: Previous work experience supporting Windows OS and Citrix Presentation Server. Previous work experience with scripting using VMware PowerCLI, Powershell, Bash, and Python. VMWare Certification. CCNP Data Center certification is preferred but not required. Knowledge of medical and academic industry structures. Thanks & Regards ..
