We have an immediate opening for the below position with one of our premium clients Job Title : SQL / PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Houston, TX (Day 1 Onsite) Duration: Long Term Contract Must Have: SQL + PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) + Azure Data Factory Nice to Have: Certified in ADF Responsibilities: Database Management: Manage and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and database integrity checks. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance and identify opportunities for optimization. Implement performance tuning techniques to enhance query execution, indexing, and resource utilization. Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Troubleshooting and Resolution: Investigate and troubleshoot database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data corruption. Develop and implement solutions to resolve issues promptly and minimize downtime. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for databases to minimize data loss and ensure business continuity. Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly to ensure reliability. Azure Data Factory Development: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to facilitate data integration, transformation, and loading processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement solutions accordingly. Monitoring and Automation: Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues and automate routine tasks. Utilize monitoring tools to track database performance metrics and generate reports as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Proven experience as a SQL Server and PostgreSQL Database Administrator. In-depth knowledge of database architecture, administration, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, including designing and deploying data pipelines. Proficiency in SQL query optimization and troubleshooting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) is a plus.
