(Like AT&T, T-Mobile ect) Must be able to Mentor Mid-Level Engineers on MPLS, Automation Techniques and Strategy. Must have advanced MPLS experience. This is a lead position!! Network Architecture team leads the development and documentation of network architecture standards for deployment scenarios in our network, nationwide. They work with the Network Engineering team to bring solutions to market through proof of concept, technical analysis, vendor selection, and initial deployment processes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in every layer of the OSI model and internetworking in a service provider environment, including integration and automation tasks. About the role: Develops and leads requirements, design, development, integration, and testing of network projects and products. Assists in the vendor selection process by assisting with RFP/RFI and evaluating vendor's technical solutions and architectures. Works with domain experts who drive vendor roadmaps to ensure designs are deployable and products migrate easily to future designs. Serves as the team's internal guide relative to the most sophisticated architectural problems and provides solutions that are highly reliable and functional. Builds consensus around new products, technologies, and solutions working in a multi-functional, collaborative environment. Provides technical leadership for infrastructure and routing design, network planning and strategy, and performance engineering activities, formalizing this work in an architectural roadmap for the company. A bit about you: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent work experience. 7-10 years of validated architecture and engineering experience. Industry or vendor certifications at the professional or expert level. Experience with Cisco technologies. Experience with IP routing/switching, BGP, LDP, RSVP, OSPF, OSPFv3 Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively translate sophisticated topics to non-technical individuals. Must be thoughtful, kind, and collaborative. A little more about you: Experience with system automation tools, such as Puppet, SaltStack, Chef, or Ansible. Experience with database technologies. Familiarity with the latest agile software development lifecycle. Experience with at least one major public or private cloud services platform such as AWS, Google Cloud, Openshift, or OpenStack. Strong understanding of information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards.
