Please review the JD and share resumes Job Description - Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer (Puppet) (or Infrastructure Automation Engineer Puppet ) 100% Remote, in California (Candidates can relo to California, preferably northern California , Bay Area or Sacramento) Must be local to CA ( Required meetings at client office bi weekly) Must Haves *** (make sure these below points are on the resume, in the company descriptions, not just at the top in the summary) Must have worked in Academia industry: must have worked recently (current or previous, 2, 3 jobs) at a University or Collage Minimum 7+years work experience as a Systems Engineer or Automation Engineer or infrastructure automation engineer and senior level exp with Puppet versions Must have: Migration experience with Puppet (version 3 to 6, oldest to newest) they have to know the old versions and the new Experience in any of the scripting language Shell, or Perl, or Python, or Ruby Redhat, Linux versions 6 - 8 Senior experience with web, database, and OS server configuration(Linux, Apache, and MySQL platforms Proven configuration management experience Large project details:They are Migrating their San Diego Data Center to AWS Cloud - Need a Puppetmaster who knows old school puppet, versions 3 - 6 and Red hat versions 6 - 8 and some scripting/automatio JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description Expertise with automation/configuration management using Puppet Good knowledge with Puppet, Puppets declarative language to specify system configuration in Puppet manifests, complex resource dependencies, compilation into catalogs for distribution to target systems/servers, and split Puppet Master architecture. Proven configuration management skills and mindset Experience maintaining large clusters using configuration tools such as : Puppet/Chef Strong practical Linux based systems administration skills in a cloud or virtualized environment - Qualifications Expertise with Puppet Versions from version 3 to newest Operating highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions Strong hands-on experience in any of the scripting language Shell, Perl, Python, or Ruby Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git, SVN, etc- ) Work with development teams to identify and implement automation in appropriate areas Knowledge on distributed applications/enterprise applications is plus.
