Job Title: Workday Integration Developer Job Location: Chicago, IL (Initial remote) Experience Required: 10+ Yrs. Position Type: Contract Major Responsibilities: Guide and mentor software engineers and systems analysts engaged in designing, developing, coding, maintaining, and modifying application programs across HR Applications including Workday platform. Responsible for Change Release, Configuration Deliverables. Responsible for Technical Design, Build and Deployment of all projects. Responsible for Major Systems Maintenance, Data Retention planning and DR processes. Directs, controls and monitors project progress. Leads technical team's efforts to ensure timeliness of project deliverables are on time and within budget. Ensures application systems are reliable and that data files maintain data integrity; application failures and/or data inconsistencies are corrected in an expedient manner; departmental programming standards are maintained for all products placed into production; compliance with data security and auditing requirements of applications responsible. Ensures that the appropriate user documentation is provided. Reviews requirements and objectives of projects determines priorities and staffing requirements and schedules, delegates, and coordinates the work of developers. Defines, drafts, and distributes project plans, directs, and controls project progress and reviews completed work to ensure that programs adhere to corporate policies, practices, and programming quality standards. Monitors project progress to ensure necessary resources have been allocated and to ensure that projects will be delivered in a timely manner. Implements programs into the production environment and monitors program performance. Evaluates system after it has been put into use to ensure that user needs have been met and that the system is fulfilling the originally defined requirements at a satisfactory level. Prepares activity and status reports for management for all project activities; aids in the preparation of cost / benefit analysis report, audit responses, special project reports and project implementation reports. Effectively communicates strategy, technical designs, governance models, team deliverables and status to various audiences. Documents, owns, and ensures sustainability of design documents, best practices, version control, Architectural diagrams, process flows and other system/support documentations. Ensures compliance with testing and migration standards, as well as consistent change management governance for code promotions across the Workday landscape. Leads the Operational Support Model adoption to ensure sustaining support processes are in place. Provides thought leadership regarding best practices that contribute to the overall end user experience utilizing Workdays integration tools, products, and services. Serves as an escalation point for troubleshooting technical inquiries and integration issues. Qualifications: Required Skills / Experience: 10+ years of IT leadership experience in an Applications Delivery environment. 5+ years of experience with Workday full life cycle deployments including translation of functional requirements, technical specifications documentation, development, testing, and implementation. Expert level skills in Workday Integrations, Reports, Workday Studio, Calculated Fields, EIB, CCB, XSLT, Cloud Connect, Core Connectors, Document Transformation, PICOF, SOAP and REST Web Services, WSDL, RaaS, Business Processes, Security. Experience configuring Workday HCM and other modules. Experience with developing Workday integrations to external vendors and internal systems. Understanding of cloud integration methodologies. Strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. Strong understanding of SDLC concepts, framework, and deliverables. Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills including the ability to bring together various teams and resources to deliver results. Strong project management skills ability to manage multiple activities in a face paced environment, communicate progress, and consistently deliver on activities Proactive, results oriented approach to assignments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills interacting with various levels of the organization. Demonstrated experience with Excel, Visio, MS Project (or equivalent) and PowerPoint.
