Job title: Technology Architect Location: Boston MA(Hybrid 2-3 days onsite per week) Position Summary: As a result of organizational consolidation, DOL currently relies on three siloed software systems to manage various licensing, permitting, inspecting, and enforcing functions. DOL is currently undergoing a modernization effort to replace these three systems with a single standardized platform. The Technology Architect role is intended to be a key player in this modernization effort. While we are prioritizing hiring a Solution Architect, were interested in someone who also has experience as a technical architect and is comfortable getting into the weeds of technical decision-making if necessary. This role would not be responsible for directly managing an engineering team and would primarily partner with and direct implementing vendors. Are you a proven technical leader who wants to work on a meaningful public-service software project Are you an engineer with experience working on large, complex systems looking to step into a leadership role Read on, this role may be for you. What youll do As a Technology Architect, you will provide technical leadership, support, and direction to DOL and its external vendor teams who are implementing and/or maintaining a product for DOL. The Technology Architect will report to the Associate Deputy Commissioner of Technology, Analytics, and Digital Transformation (ADC), who oversees the Agencys technology modernization, digital transformation, and data analytics initiatives. Role Objectives DOL anticipates kicking off implementation for a new Salesforce application in July 2024 and is currently in the procurement and planning stages.
