Qualifications: BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in solution architecture within credit cards and payment projects. Payment and credit card domain knowledge is highly desirable. Proven experience working on large-scale projects as a solution architect. Proficiency in Agile methodology. Technical / Functional Proficiency: Experience designing and building applications as a Technical/Solution Architect. Expertise in developing scalable, high-throughput, fault-tolerant applications within the financial industry, including banking, payments, and digital experience applications. Proficiency in application architecture and design with RDBMS (Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB). Hands-on experience with Java & Spring Framework. Previous exposure to Container (Docker) and Kubernetes. Sound understanding of API Gateway (IBM Datapower or Apigee), Oauth & Swagger/OpenAPI specifications. Familiarity with architectural patterns such as Microservices, event-driven (Solace or Kafka), and CQRS. Ability to understand and design solutions according to Non-Functional Requirements (HA, Performance, Scalability, Security). Collaborate with Application teams, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Project Managers to comprehend business requirements. Design solutions covering both functional and non-functional requirements. Proficient in creating architecture documents and diagrams. Document solutions in descriptive and diagram form (e.g., Logical Architecture, UML Sequence diagram, Use Case diagram). Analyze industry trends and recommend products/solutions, including conducting Proof of Concepts if necessary. Adhere to Enterprise Governance processes. Lead architecture and design review processes with delivery teams. Additional knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps is advantageous. Ensure timely submission of weekly business critical management projects. Review and approve change requests raised in ServiceNow to ensure due diligence. Timely raising of technology requests (e.g., functional id access, file transfer via NDM node, key requests) to avoid project delivery delays. Manage keys efficiently, including renewal/extension, inventory management, and compliance with card application and project requirements. Understand and adhere to Citi's processes, including cross-border data clearance and management of information security issues. Address queries/requests from regulators, auditors, or internal governance bodies. Leadership Skills: Strong understanding of the credit card industry, HSM functions, and various types of keys. Proficient in Stakeholder Management to facilitate discussions between Business, Solutions, Operations, and Application Teams. Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of project stakeholders, subject matter, and priorities. Demonstrates leadership and effective communication skills. Flexibility to work across different time zones, supporting stakeholders across LATAM, EMEA, and ASPAC regions. Customer service-focused with the ability to communicate effectively with technical management teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and functional. Demonstrates strong leadership, interpersonal, and team-building skills. Effective time management and adaptability to changing priorities in a dynamic environment. Ability to provide quick turnaround to software issues and management requests. Ability to grasp key issues and concepts rapidly.
