Your responsibilities will encompass advanced database performance monitoring and tuning, the creation and execution of backup and recovery plans, and high availability planning. Ensuring the confidentiality, organization, security, and protection of databases and data will be paramount. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, automate routine tasks through script development, and contribute to project initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Database Management: Maintains confidentiality of the client and client proprietary information. Collaborates within a team to install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances. Performs advanced database performance monitoring and tuning using effective database tools. Creates, executes, and maintains backup and recovery plans, and high availability planning. Recommends hardware configurations for optimal database performance and high availability. Collaboration and Automation: Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including application engineers, system administrators, and business/data analysts. Develops and maintains scripts for automating routine database administration tasks. Provides daily operational activities such as backups/restores, application troubleshooting, log monitoring, adds, moves, and changes. Works with other Technology Team members, Product Networking, and Tech Support for application development, network plans, troubleshooting, implementations, and changes on database servers. Ability to analyze situations using research and troubleshooting skills. Ability to make decisions on tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgment, and initiative. Works cooperatively and professionally with diverse technical and non-technical individuals. The employee in this position will work with Technology and Engineering team members, DevOps, Network, Data Analysts, Product Networking, Technical Support, and Client Services teams. Prioritizes and completes tasks in a reasonable timeframe. Coordinates multiple resources to complete tasks. Performs advanced mathematical calculations. Project Participation and On-call Support: Participates in projects as needed. Participates in the on-call production support rotation and occasionally work outside of traditional hours. Uses strong communication skills to convey clear, concise, and organized information. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assumes additional responsibilities as required. EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND LICENSING: Six or more years of experience working as a Database Administrator. Experience working with SQL Server and AWS. Ability to analyze situations using research and troubleshooting skills. Ability to make decisions on tasks frequently requiring discretion, judgment, and initiative. High level of flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work cooperatively and professionally with diverse individuals. Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a reasonable timeframe.
