Job Title: EMC Storage Consultant Client: HCL America Location: Anchor, IL Duration: Long Term Contract Job Description: Hitachi(HDS) VSP & EMC XIO(Xtreme IO) are the primary skills. EMC Isilon is a addon/secondary skill. General Description Responsibilities :- Performing Storage operations day-to-day activities Reporting to the Track Lead / Team Lead for technical and operational activities Performing root cause analysis for severity 1 issues Planning and Implementing Change Requests Improves and maintains customer and employee satisfaction Suggesting patches/upgrades to maintain security level Troubleshooting technical issues related and handling escalations from the team members Ensuring that the processes are adhered to while working on any problem, incident & change request Improve and maintain customer and employee satisfaction by the way of quality on day to day tasks Stay current on technical specifications and hardware requirements of Hitachi & EMC products hardware & software, including future products HDS Track Technical Requirements Administration & implementation knowledge on Hitachi (HDS) VSP Storage and HUR Replication. Administration & implementation knowledge of Hitachi Ops Centre Suite, Ops Center Server / Ops Administrator / Ops Protector Hands-On experience on LUN Provisioning, Zoning, Performance Monitoring Possess in-depth knowledge of Storage Data at Rest & In-Flight Encryption technologies, Certificates Possess in-depth knowledge of Architecture and hands on experience of HDS VSP, G Series, Unified Replication technologies and Migration. EMC Track Technical Requirements Administration & implementation knowledge on EMC XIO, EMC Isilon and Replication policies & methodology Possess in-depth knowledge of Architecture and hands on experience using XtremIO Custers, Isilon Clusters, their replication, Policies, Consistency Groups and Migration. Hands-On experience on LUN Provisioning, Zoning, Performance Monitoring Possess in-depth knowledge of Storage Data at Rest & In-Flight Encryption technologies, Certificates Creating & Administration of SMB & NFS shares, Snapshot, Quota Management Possess in-depth knowledge of Architecture and hands on experience of XtremeIO (XIO) Storage, Replication technologies and Migration. Possess in-depth knowledge of Architecture and hands on experience of EMC Isilon, Replication Policies, Migration & Networking +Other Requirements Working knowledge of Block, File & Object Storage. Hands on experience on SAN & Converged Switches (FC / FCoE / FCIP), Manage Cisco DCNM (Zoning / VSAN / ISL) Good knowledge on multi pathing administration of UNIX, Linux (RHEL), Windows, HP OS. Good working knowledge on storage virtualization. Expert skills in Storage Performance fine tuning, Availability, Reporting and Capacity Management. Able to handle and troubleshoot hardware issues on Storage Environment and co-ordinate with multiple teams as a single point of contact. Possess good working knowledge of storage analysis, testing, POC, system software, ability to provide root cause analysis to the customer Good knowledge on Best practices for storage administration, projects and migration strategies. Analysis, optimization, design, installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting Trouble shooting share permission issue from Storage Side and co-ordinate with platform teams. Performing array fine tuning based on Performance analysis. Hands on working knowledge on FC SAN Switches, creating zones & fabric management.
