Database Administrator Location: Onsite -- VA - Reston, 11951 Freedom Dr Ste 900 Client: Comcast Note: 9+ years consultants located in VA or nearby states only Provide database operation support, maintain current Oracle database system, upgrade and migrate to newer data centers or platforms. Working on remediating any security findings timely. This position is accountable for building, managing, operating, and continuously improving Database and Tools Infrastructure that support Comcast's customer facing applications, back-office, and provisioning infrastructure in a 7*24 environment. Examples of infrastructure include, but are not limited to large-scale server complexes, multi-terabyte DBs, and developing/supporting enterprise class management and monitoring tools. Position s focus on building, deploying and stabilizing code, services, systems, tools; driving standardization and service focused instrumentation, resolving break/fix scenarios, engaging broader teams as necessary Determines and pursues course of action necessary to achieve results. You will be participating in multi-disciplined teams that will lead the standards for different technologies Required to interact and work closely with vendors, business users and application development groups. Required to work with the development team to assist in improving the performance & tuning the SQL queries.
