Job Title: Product Owner

Location: Providence, RI

Duration: 06+ Months Contract

Job Description:

4yr+ experience in business analysis, data analysis, or product management in related field

Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and cross-functional teams who do not report into this role to get things done.

Strong communication skills including ability to present insights and recommendations persuasively, skill and confidence in dealing with people at all levels of organization.

Ability to learn new business areas, processes, tools, and technologies, as needed.

Experience working with Jira is a plus

Product Owner works with customers, end users, and the development team to make sure the product addresses user needs and aligns with the product strategy.

Product Owner is the primary point of contact for customers, analyzes their business processes, needs and requirements, defines specific product features and breaks them into user stories; ensures that product delivers the maximum value to the user.

This individual will develop a thorough knowledge of the company retailer management and optimization solutions, a suite of applications to manage relationships and interactions with existing and potential retailerswith the goals of improving retailer

Group relationships; assisting in retailer retention; and driving sales growth.

This role includes enhancing existing products and creating new ones as well as being a key product champion for both internal and external audiences.

Reporting Reports to the Product Director, Retailer Management & Optimization.

Job Responsibilities: Product Focus

Works with customers, end users, and the development team to make sure the product meets user needs and aligns with the product strategy

Defines specific product features and breaks them into user stories

Writes user stories and ensures each story has the correct acceptance criteria

Gathers, manages, and prioritizes the product backlog

Works closely with engineering and quality assurance to ensure the right customer problem is solved.

This can involve sharing market research and competitive analysis with the team to best focus their efforts.

Advocates on behalf of the customer for the development team

Evaluates the work done by the development team and provide constant feedback

Updates FRDs(functional requirement documents), user guides, and other product documentation

Leads customer engagements: business process analyses, demo/config. workshops, re-occurring support mtgs.

Learns and documents customers needs (gaps specs./BRs)

Tracks progress towards the release of a product

Contributes to the product vision, strategy, and roadmap

Perform user acceptance testing of new features and functions.

Flexible to work within Agile, Waterfall or hybrid development model Customer Engagement

Engage with customers at different levels to understand business needs, analyze, document, evaluate and prioritize the requirements and make recommendations on the solution.

Immerse in new business areas to gain domain expertise with proactive research and fast learning.

Evangelize the value of the products to our customers, grow adoption and utilization.
