| Position: Cloud Engineer - Kafka Experience: Around 10 years RAte: 55 Contract length: 6 months Location: Remote (US) JD: Client is looking for a Cloud Engineer focused on Kafka and AWS to join the team to support Cloud migration and resiliency efforts. Job Duties: Work on MSK/Kafka administration, platform management, performance optimization of Kafka partitioning and Kafka brokers. Be part of MSK/Kafka Roadmap, driving enhancements, Kafka mirroring, security updates, and standardizing best practices for Kafka. Automate and enhance existing operational procedures, maintenance and build outs. Optimize the scalability and resiliency of our Kafka environment across multiple regions, supporting both active-active and active-passive setups. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to fulfill business requirements. Minimum Qualifications: Experience with AWS. (2 years) Experience with DevOps tool sets and methodologies. (2 years) Experience with Kafka mirroring with MirrorMaker. (Huge plus) Experience with Kafka. (3 years) Experience with supporting 24/7 critical systems for on-call. Experience with monitoring and alerting tools like systems DataDog, Prometheus, Splunk. Experience with certificate-based authentication, x509 certs. Experience with multi region active-active, active-passive setups and disaster recovery. Knowledge on micro service architecture and serverless system. Knowledge on Kubernetes, helm, EKS. Good to Have: Experience with Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK) Experience supporting Java applications and Node JS. Scripting experience with Node.js, JavaScript, bash. Experience with Zookeeper. Hands-on experience and focus on Kafka/MSK is expected.
