Job Description:

OVERVIEW

The Salesforce Developer/Release Engineer is a key member of our delivery team responsible for planning and development of our Salesforce and connected integration releases across multiple scrum teams. The successful candidate will drive the on-time and effective delivery of high-quality, enterprise software releases with minimal disruption to the ongoing operations. The ideal candidate will have release engineering experience with the Copado DevOps platform.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

             Develop Holistic Release/Environment Management plan, communicate and execute.

             Release Management

             Implement best practices consistent with an agile development methodology.

             Execute deployments for the two BDTs (Business Development Teams) into Wine and Production environments.

             Package the implementation of Salesforce release (using Copado and/or Git), manage merges with upstream work, resolves conflicts, work with developers on conflicts when needed, coordinates tasks with the development teams, and maintain a pre/post deployment checklist.

             Develop, implement, and manage the procedures including (but not limited to) documentation standards, release management processes, naming conventions, source control, upgrades of Salesforce, nCino, Copado.

             Peer Review: Design/code reviews, champion good coding standards/practices and standards, and improve source code and code impact.

             Proactively identify and mitigate risks and remove obstacles to the release.

             Continuously looking at ways to improve the release process, ensuring release readiness and keeping on the latest version of Copado.

             Coordinate with teams and ensure testing coverage for deployments.

             Troubleshoot deployment issues/conflicts and guide the completion of root cause analysis to ensure issues do not recur. Coordinate with the deployment team on resolution.

             Serve as final approver of what is released to Production.

             Provide Copado support and training to Salesforce build teams and share latest Copado release information.

             Attend weekly CAB meetings.

             Manage change control processes for the release including ensuring that changes to the configuration management methods and processes are properly documented, approved, and communicated.

             Run bi-weekly environment management meetings.

             Perform ServiceNow implementation tasks including configuration, integration, custom programming.

Communication before, during and after

             Provide oversight for deployment of releases into sandbox environments and production environments through clear and consistent communications.

             Collaborates with the teams to document and create technical release notes for BDTs.

             Provide status updates on releases and communication of any issues to the group.

Environment management

             Responsible for all Salesforce environment management in coordination with the Product Owners.

             Development and execute the environment Refresh strategy in coordination with the Product Owners.

             Manage environment refresh activities and coordination.

             Coordinate and execute back promotions in development sandbox environments, ensuring the environments are healthy and in sync.

             Oversees the Salesforce environment and execute periodic backup, refresh and maintenance of Sandboxes and repositories.

             Maintain Salesforce certifications.

             Conduct Salesforce Health Checks.

             Manage Salesforce critical release updates.
