We have job opening for the below role. Role: Network Engineer Location: Minneapolis, MN (Locals) Duration: Contract Role Description: Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage wireless network infrastructure, including access points, controllers, and RF spectrum analyzers. Configure and optimize Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to support wired and wireless connectivity. Implement and maintain security measures to protect wireless and wired networks against unauthorized access, intrusions, and other security threats. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues, utilizing network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless and Cisco networking solutions with existing systems and applications. Provide technical support and assistance to end-users experiencing network-related issues, diagnosing and resolving problems in a timely manner. Conduct network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize network performance. Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices in wireless networking and Cisco systems, recommending upgrades or enhancements as needed. Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to network emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience working as a Network Engineer, with a focus on wireless networking and Cisco technologies. In-depth knowledge of wireless networking protocols, standards, and technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee). Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless controllers. Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including encryption protocols, authentication methods, and firewall configurations. Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Cisco Prime Infrastructure. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with team members. Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE Wireless) are highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with enterprise-grade wireless networking solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, or Ruckus. Familiarity with Cisco software-defined networking (SDN) solutions, such as Cisco DNA Center. Knowledge of cloud-based wireless management platforms, such as Cisco Meraki or Aruba Central. Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) for task automation and configuration management.
